Jacinta

voz

------------------------------------- SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE - Training and Professional Experience as jazz vocalist and composer - Professional Experience as a private instrument and ensemble instructor - Professional Experience as a Theory teacher - Professional Experience as a Choir teacher DISCOGRAPHY Tribute to Bessie Smith, on Blue Note Records / EMI Portugal – released in Feb/03 - - gold record in Portugal TEACHING EXPERIENCE Private Teaching Studio (NYC/ Portugal) Voice Instructor, 1995-98 - Vocal Technique and Jazz Style interpretation Piano Instructor, 1992-95 – young children and teenagers, including preparation of advanced students for successful Conservatory entrance auditions High School of Calvao (Portugal) Music Appreciation, 1995-97 - Ear training - Music Initiation, Choir and Orff ensembles Educational Science courses supervisor, 1995-96 Music Conservatory of Viseu (Portugal), 1994-95 Analysis and Composition Techniques I Chamber Music Porto Professional School of Music (Portugal), 1995 Analysis and Composition Techniques II Choir of 50 elements - XVI century and XX Century pieces (Classical and Jazz) Extensive Teaching Experience available on request EDUCATION Manhattan School of Music (New York City) - Master of Music in Jazz Performance, 1999 (Full Scholarship, 1997-99) - Vocal Studies with Peter Eldridge Aveiro University (Portugal) - Bachelor of Music in Classical Composition (10 semester degree), 1995 - Completed field training in Educational Sciences in the Music Conservatory of Viseu, 1994-95 Aveiro Music Conservatory (Portugal) - Piano Major, 1983-90 - Courses in Ear Training; Analysis and Composition Techniques; Music History; Acoustics; Piano; Choir and Chamber Music Schoensttat Sisters of Mary School of Music (Portugal) - Orff and Suzuki methods, 1976-83 - Classes of Ear Training; Choir; Recorder and Percussion Instruments ADDITIONAL TRAINING Private Piano Jazz Lessons (San Francisco) - In between tours, study of jazz piano, accompaniment and improvisation with Matthew Clark, 2002 to present Private Jazz Improvisation Lessons (NYC) - With Chris Rosenberg (guitarist of the Ornette Coleman Band), 1998-2000 - With Darmon Meader (sax player, singer and arranger of The New York Voices), 2000 Private Jazz Composition Lessons (NYC) with Roland Vasquez, 1999 Hot Club of Portugal Jazz School (Lisbon, Portugal), 1995 - Jazz voice with Inês Martins - Jazz Ensembles and Ear Training with Mário Delgado Private Vocal Lessons - Classical Technique with Isabel Maya and António Salgado, 1991-95 - Jazz Style Interpretation with Inês Martins, 1990; and with Peter Eldridge, 1999-00 JAZZ WORKSHOPS and Master Classes Maria Schneider, Manhattan School of Music, NYC, 1999.
